Behind the thrice-locked door, a prison…and freedom
My name is Charlotte Harrington, which is the least important thing about me. I wrote this book to catalogue the major events of my days trapped in the attic—the place where I lost my self, and then found it again. You might think these writings are a condemnation of my sanity, but I am of an age which permits me to dismiss the judgment of others, granting me the freedom to publish this work without deference to your opinions.
If anyone has lost their mind, it is the buffalo. You will understand better when you see what it said.
Now, you might have heard of me, or at least seen my family name in the gossip columns. I assure you, I have nothing to do with them. I have my own family now, in the attic.
Some of them might be ghosts.
I cannot be sure.
Lost in the great expanse of open space, the last survivors of Earth seek salvation, purpose, and a new planet to call home…
The GSS Resolution—a star ship the size of a city—is floating adrift. Cadet April Seren doesn’t know what’s wrong, and she doesn’t really care. Her job as a low-level maintenance worker is boring but easy, and holds no surprises…which is just how she likes it.
When a mysterious explosion destroys a huge chunk of the ship and kills everyone on board, her survival is abruptly thrust into her own hands. And she has no idea what to do about it until she finds an unexpected friend—an irreverent young man with green skin. He says his name is Lowkey, and he pretends not to care about anything at all. But Seren soon learns he holds many agonizing secrets, including the existence of a beautiful blue girl named Shade who he keeps hidden away as she languishes in a coma on the brink of death.
The loss of her comfortable life is only the beginning of Seren’s problems. Her entire worldview is again thrown into upheaval when a strange enemy reveals itself, bringing with it a flood of devastating truths about her origins that she doesn’t want to hear. And its murderous intent is based on a dark history she never even realized she had.
Can Seren save her friends, her ship, and her entire species…without losing herself?
The fate of a world that is not her home rests upon the shoulders of Kana Kobayashi, the last human.
Kana wasn’t special. Maybe she’d never amount to anything, or even get off the streets. And maybe that was okay. Life was hard, but at least she knew her place, and she knew how to get by.
Until everything changed.
Plunged without warning into the Kingdom, a land of talking animals built on the ruins of an ancient civilization, she must become stronger than she ever thought she could. Her new life comes with new responsibilities, as Paragon Fel, the king of cats, makes Kana his ambassador in an attempt to avert a gruesome war between the three great animal classes. At the king’s request, Kana and her roguish fox friend Panicum must embark on a perilous journey as she tries to forge peace across borders. While Fel frets about his southern territories, an even greater power is stirring within a mysterious abandoned city in the northern Badlands, and it will take the combined fortitude of all the gentle creatures of the Kingdom to stave off the threat to their existence.
Fans of retro horror movies and dark humor will enjoy this inventive new haunted house novel!
It’s 1979, and single father Max Braun is being evicted from his apartment. If he can’t find a new place right away, he could lose custody of his daughter, Penny. Just when his situation is becoming desperate, he receives a letter in the mail saying he is the grand prize winner in a contest for a new home.
But Max doesn’t remember entering a contest, and after moving into the house he begins to suspect everything is not as it seems. As wild animals frighten Penny and a horrific accident occurs on the property, Max wonders if the free house was really such a great deal after all. No threats from ghosts, the undead, or even his ex-wife will stop him from saving his daughter and his home—even if he must descend into the bowels of Hell itself.

Rue Spark, book blogger says:
“Kana the Stray is original, strange, and unapologetic... a well-oiled machine of a book. I thought I had an idea of what Kana the Stray would be like, what it would be about; and while the book I thought I was going to have read would have been good, it would have been done before. Kana is original, strange, and unapologetic.
What struck me first and foremost about Kana is that the prose was flawless. Detailed, but unhindered. Emotional, but not dawdling. The pacing was spot on throughout the book, setting the tension and giving me chances to breathe before heart-thumping action scenes.
What made this book so engrossing is that when it hit its stride, it was incredibly exciting. It is an action-packed sci-fi with the added mystery of how Kana ends up in the Kingdoms in the first place. The twists and turns had me guessing, while the battles, the betrayals, different forces coming in and out of play and the emotional growth of the main characters all happen in fluid motions, a well-oiled machine of a book that honestly caught me by surprise.”
“The Desert in the Glass is a gripping story with conflict and a denouement that, while leaving readers with questions, remains hugely satisfying.”

“(The Desert in the Glass is) an evocative adventure that beacons my soul to the dusty deserts of Nevada.
Divided into three sections each more beautiful and troubling than the next, I found it hard to pick a favorite. In the end it didn’t matter though, what happened was 'The Desert in the Glass' tied together as neatly as a professionally tied bow around a beautifully wrapped box. A work of art.
If there was one thing that stood out about this book it would be this, the expressive narrative in which C.C. introduces her characters that she had created to star in this impressive tale. Vivid portrayal, well established cast and a plot that is as solid as a rock I found this book to be nothing more than remarkable.”

“'Don't you recognize me, Dreamer?'
As the description says, (The Desert in the Glass) follows three women and their quest at fulfilling destiny.
I enjoyed all three of the journeys. Each story can stand on its own and introduces a myriad of new characters. These characters have their own depth and flavor. I never felt like they were being reused later like a newly laundered shirt.
Time and fate are fickle. Enjoy the read!”

“Intriguing.
A bizarre compilation of three seemingly separate eerie tales befalling three women that ultimately fit like a glove. (The Desert in the Glass) is a page turner in its entirety with its plot that pushes the envelope of the horrific and unimaginable. The writer does an outstanding job in the portrayal of her characters giving life to each of them piquing not only interest but the startling revelation that you, as the reader, are championing for the most unlikely of heroes well before its conclusion.”
